RowanWPA Wireless Access - Requirements and Instructions for Connecting

Rowan University uses WPA Enterprise security on all wireless access points on campus. Access to the RowanWPA network requires the following:

  1. A valid Rowan user account
  2. A device that supports WPA Enterprise, including 802.1x authentication, PEAP/MSCHAPv2 and TKIP
  3. An up-to-date antivirus package
  4. For students an acceptable anti-spyware program
All major operating systems fully support WPA Enterprise, though some require manual configuration of PEAP and TKIP settings to connect. A majority of handheld devices and all video game consoles, however, support only plain WPA and do not have extensions that allow for 802.1x authentication using your Rowan username and password.
