RowanSecure:

If you would like to connect to the encrypted RowanSecure network, you will still need to follow the instructions below:

In order to connect a computer to RowanSecure, devices must meet certain security requirements, including installing an anti-virus program, turning on automatic updates and registering through the ClearPass system. Follow the steps below to get your Mac computer connected to RowanSecure:

  1. Equip your computer with anti-virus software. See our recommendations for Macs.
  2. Check for updates. Run Software Update on your computer. 
  3. Install ClearPass. Download and install the automatic ClearPass installer for Macs. You can install ClearPass from on- or off-campus. If you are unable to install the automatic installer, please complete the manual installation steps outlined below
  4. Connect to RowanSecure. Choose RowanSecure from the list of available wireless networks, or connect via ethernet, and log in with your Rowan NetID. For more help, see our frequently asked questions about wireless connectivity.  


Manual Installation

  1. Plug your computer into a wired connection, or connect it to the RowanSecure wireless network, and log in when prompted with your Rowan NetID.  
  2. Navigate to any webpage in your web browser, and you will be automatically redirected to the ClearPass OnGuard Registration page. 




    1. Click on the Mac OnGuard Agent link to download the installer. 

  3. Launch the downloaded package.



  4. Click Continue.



  5.  Click Continue.



  6. Click Continue



  7. Click Agree



  8. Click Install



  9. Click Close



  10. You will now be prompted to log in to the ClearPass OnGuard agent. Enter your Rowan NetID. 



  11. ClearPass OnGuard will then authenticate and perform a scan to ensure your computer meets certain security requirements, including supported, up-to-date anti-virus software.



  12. You should be registered and able to connect to the wired or RowanSecure wireless network.
