Duo text message codes are being phased out starting early next year to better protect Rowan University from scams. We strongly recommend you set up the Duo Mobile app or a hardware token now to prepare.
Duo supports standalone, one-time password hardware tokens for two-factor authentication. A hardware token is a small device on which a passcode is generated and then used to authorize access to protected applications and websites through the Duo prompt.
Duo hardware tokens are available to active employees, students, and medical affiliates and can be used if you are traveling internationally.
Obtain a Duo Hardware Token:
Request a Duo hardware token in the Rowan Support Portal.
Enroll a Duo hardware token:
Once you have your hardware token you need to log in to NetID and enroll it.
- Log in to netid.rowan.edu
- Click Duo Devices in the left-hand navigation menu
- Click Register new Token
- Enter and confirm the 10-digit serial number on the back of your token and click Register Token.
- Your token is now enrolled in Duo two-factor authentication.
- When you receive a Duo login prompt, select Enter Passcode, enter the code generated by your token and select Log In.
For more information, see our article on using two-factor authentication to log in.
