Lenovo System Update: Manually Check for New Updates

Lenovo System Update is a software utility tool that will automatically checks for system and firmware updates to protect against security threats and optimize system performance. Lenovo System Update will prompt you when an update is available. You can also manually check for updates by launching Lenovo System Update on your own:
 

  1. Go to Start > All Programs > Lenovo > Lenovo System Update
  2. Click Next on the Welcome window to get new updates or click Get new Updates on the menu located on the left of the window.



    * System Update may need to be updated. Click Yes to update and restart system update

  3. If prompted, click OK to allow information about your computer to be sent to the Lenovo Help Center. Check the "Do not ask me again. I agree on sending this information every time" option to prevent this message from appearing again.



  4. The searching for updates window displays the progress of the search process.



  5. Please check I agree to this License Notice for all future packages. Do not show me this License Notice again., then click OK.



  6. Review each tab and select the needed updates.
    • Critical Updates - Are updates that should be installed
    • Recommended Updates - Are updates that should be reviewed and installed
    • Optional Updates - Are updates that should be reviewed and installed
    • Extras - This normally contains options for your system. It can contain both accessories and software

  7. Pick the update(s) that you want to install, then click Next > Install.



  8. Reboot if prompted. (System Update may need to be run multiple times to ensure all updates have been downloaded and installed successfully.)
