Make a Conference Call using a Cisco Phone Model Series Desk Phones 7800 and 8800
This section will explain how to set up a conference call for Cisco phones, model and series 7821, 7841, 7861, 8811, 8851, and 8865. For more information and features for Cisco phones refer to the Cisco IP Phones 7800 and 8800 Series Users Guide located in Cisco IP Telephones: Getting Started article. Your Cisco IP Phone supports conference calls, enabling you to talk with multiple parties at the same time.
Making a Conference Call
- During a call, press the conference key.
- Doing so automatically activates a new line and puts the first party on hold.
- Place a call to another number or extension. When the call connects, press Conference soft key (the buttons under the screen) to add the new party to the conference call.
- Repeat these steps to add parties to the conference call.
Conference Call Tips
- To mute a conference call, press Mute.
- To put a conference call on hold, press the Hold soft key.
- Note: Engaging the Hold feature generates music or a beeping tone. For this reason, avoid putting a conference call on hold.
- To place a conference call on the speakerphone, press the Speaker button.
- Press the Mute button to mute the speakerphone. The Mute button will light Red when mute is active. The conference parties cannot hear you but you can hear them.
- Press the Trnsfer soft key to transfer a conference call to another person. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call and then press Trnsfer again. All parties will be transferred.
