To access network storage while on campus, you must be connected to RowanSecure wireless or wired network. Follow the instructions for your operating system and role at the University.
To access your home directory or openarea off campus, you may use the Employee Desktop or Academic Desktop in Citrix or connect via the Rowan VPN, if you have been authorized for access.
Windows (Employees)
Employees can access the openarea or home directory on a Rowan-managed computer by double-clicking the "My Computer" icon on your desktop or from the Start Menu and double-clicking the O: Drive for openarea and H: Drive for home directory.
Windows (Students)
Students who want to access the openarea should take the following steps:
- From the Windows Start Menu, click Run
- To access the openarea, enter \\rowanads.rowan.edu\common\openarea, click OK and log in using rowanads\username as your username and your NetID password.
- To access your home directory, enter \\rowanads.rowan.edu\home\username and log in using rowanads\username as your username and your NetID password.
Mac (Students & Employees)
- Click Go on the Finder menu and then Connect to Server
- To access your home directory, enter smb://rowanads.rowan.edu/home/username and log in using your rowanads\username as your username and your NetID password.
- To access the openarea, enter smb://rowanads.rowan.edu/common/openarea and log in using rowanads\username as your username and your NetID password.
Notes
If you need to be given access to a folder in the openarea or would like a new folder created, you should contact the Technology Support Center at support@rowan.edu.
