Overview

This article contains the steps to update and add your U.S. address and phone number in Self-Service Banner. Note: Federal regulations require all International students to maintain their Permanent address as their home country and update their U.S. Address (Local) and phone number within ten days of changes. Home country permanent address changes must be updated through a different process here. Failure to comply may result in severe immigration-related consequences. Please get in touch with the International Center with any questions. 

Solution

  1. Go to ssb.rowan.edu. 
  2. Select the Main button at the top.


  3. Select the General Dashboard tile button.


  4. Select the Personal Information tile button.



  5. Scroll down to the Address section.
  6. Select + Add New in the top right corner of the section.


    Note: Select the pencil icon under the address to edit. Select the trash can icon under the address to delete.



  7. The Add Address window box will appear.
  8. Select Local from the Type of Address dropdown.


  9. Enter the rest of the required fields listed below: 
    • Enter Today's Date for the Valid from This Date: MM/DD/YYYY field.


    • The Until This Date: MM/DD/YYYY field can remain blank.
    • Enter your U.S. street address in the Address Line 1 field. The street address should include the house or apartment building number and street name—Example: 12 Mullica Hill Road.
      • If the address includes an apartment, list the apartment information at the end of the first street address line--- Example: 12 Mullica Hill Rd Apt 71A


    • If the street address will not fit on one line, put the street on Address Line 1, and enter the apartment number in the  Address Line 2 field. Do NOT enter the name of your apartment complex. Note: If you do not have an apartment number, leave Address Lines 2 and 3 blank.


    • Enter the name of the U.S. city in the City field.


    • Select the State or Province dropdown and select the state.


    • Select the County dropdown and select the county in which you live.


    • Enter the U.S. Zip Code in the Zip Code field. Note: Zip codes are 5 - digit numbers.


    • Select the Nation dropdown and select the United States.


  10. Select Add at the bottom of the form.


  11. A message will appear in the top right corner that your address has been successfully saved!
  12. Next, you will enter your primary Phone Number for your U.S. Address. Scroll to the Phone Number section.


  13. Select + Add New in the top right corner of the Phone Number section.



    Note: Select the pencil icon under the primary phone number to edit. Select the trash can icon under the primary phone number to delete.


  14. Select Cell from the Phone Type dropdown.


  15. Enter your area code and phone number in the Area Code and Phone Number fields. Use the first three numbers of your phone number after the country code number as your area code. The remaining numbers will go under the phone number field. Important Note: Do NOT enter 1 for your country code; use the format in the screenshot below.


    Note: If you have additional phone numbers, you can add another phone type and then enter the area code and phone number.



  16. Select and check the Primary box.
  17. Select Add, when done.

Your updated local U.S. address and phone number will now appear in Self-Service Banner!
