The Duo Mobile app is the fastest and easiest verify your identity at Rowan University. You must have a screen lock enabled on your device in order to use the Duo Mobile app.
To set up the Duo Mobile app on your phone, follow the instructions below based on whether you already have a mobile phone set up:

To set up a mobile phone for the first time with the Duo Mobile app:
- Log in to netid.rowan.edu
- Click Duo Devices in the left-hand navigation menu
- Click Manage Devices.
- Login using your NetID and password to access the device management portal.
Click Add a device.

3. Enter your phone number and click Continue.
4. Confirm your number is correct and click Yes, it's correct.
5. Download Duo Mobile to your mobile device and click Next.
6. You will now see a screen containing a QR Code.
7. Open the Duo Mobile app on your device and click the + icon in the upper-right corner of the app.
8. Click Use QR code on your phone and scan the QR code.
NOTE: If you are accessing the Duo Portal from the device you are trying to register, a device that can't install the Duo Mobile App or if you have a Blackberry OS smartphone or some other device that can't scan the barcode, click the link below the QR code in order to complete the registration.
NOTE: Users can register YubiKeys (or other FIDO2-compliant security keys) and Passkeys as a secondary authentication method. However, we recommend that users continue to register Duo Mobile as their primary authentication method, since FIDO2/Passkey may not function properly in all scenarios. Due to the wide variety of FIDO2 security keys and Passkey providers, we are unable to provide support for this authentication method. This option is intended for users who are already familiar with security keys and passkey technologies. If you are new to these methods, we strongly suggest using Duo Mobile for smoother experience.

- Your device registration is now complete, and you can start using the Duo Mobile app!
The first time you log in, it will automatically start the verification process with the most secure method you have set up. For more information, see our article on using two-factor authentication to log in.
To add the Duo Mobile app to your mobile phone:
- Log in to netid.rowan.edu
- Click Duo Devices in the left-hand navigation menu.
- Click Manage Devices.
- Log in with your Rowan NetID and password
- Under the Duo Mobile registered device, click I have a new phone.
- Confirm you have Duo Mobile downloaded to your device and click Next.
- You will now see a screen containing a QR Code.
- Open the Duo Mobile app on your device and click the + icon in the upper-right corner of the app.
- Click Use QR code on your phone and scan the QR code.
NOTE: If you are accessing the Duo Portal from the device you are trying to register, a device that can't install the Duo Mobile App or if you have a Blackberry OS smartphone or some other device that can't scan the barcode, click the link below the QR code in order to complete the registration. - Your device registration is now complete, and you can start using the Duo Mobile app!
When you receive a Duo login prompt, enter the six-digit code to approve the notification sent to your app. For more information, see our article on using two-factor authentication to log in.
