Starting April 1, 2026, new employees and students and anyone who has never used their home directory will be migrated to OneDrive for personal storage. When using a Rowan-managed computer, this means your Desktop and Documents folders will automatically sync to OneDrive instead of your home directory. The Pictures folder will also be synced on Rowan-managed Windows computers.

Get started with OneDrive

To access network storage while on campus, you must be connected to RowanSecure wireless or wired network. Follow the instructions for your operating system.

To access your home directory or openarea off campus, you may use the Employee Desktop or Academic Desktop in Citrix or connect via the Rowan VPN, from a Rowan-managed computer.

Windows (Managed Device)

Users can access the openarea or home directory on a Rowan-managed computer by double-clicking the "My Computer" icon on your desktop or from the Start Menu and double-clicking the O: Drive for openarea and H: Drive for home directory.

Mac (Managed Device)

Notes

The use of cloud storage solutions may provide easier access when accessing file off campus.

If you need to be given access to a folder in the openarea or would like a new folder created, you should contact the Technology Support Center at support@rowan.edu
