A large number of applications are available to employees and students remotely through virtual desktops. In some cases, the Rowan VPN may need to be used to complete certain tasks, like receiving security and software patches and other necessary updates for managed computers.
A VPN is a virtual private network. A VPN client it is the actual software that is installed on your computer, phone, or tablet that is used to access it. Rowan uses the Cisco AnyConnect Client.
Before you begin:
- You must have received approval for VPN access to connect to the Rowan VPN.
- Java must be installed in order for the web-based installation of the AnyConnect client to work.
Installation:
Rowan Managed Computers
Rowan managed computers should have the Cisco AnyConnect client installed already. If not:
- Windows users should install the VPN Client through the Company Portal from the Start Menu.
- Mac users should install the VPN client through Self-Service.
