Your Rowan NetID password expires every 180 days and must be updated before it expires. You will receive several emails before your Rowan NetID password expires. These emails are sent 21, 14, 7, 4, 3, 2 and 1 day(s) before your password expires.
Your Rowan NetID will also be locked after a set number times of entering the incorrect password. In this scenario, you must follow the steps immediately below:
To reset your Rowan NetID password after it expires, if you've forgotten your password or your Rowan NetID is locked:
- Go to netid.rowan.edu and click the appropriate button for your situation:
Note: If you are having trouble logging in, try clearing your cache or using a private/different browser. If you are still unable to log in, please call the Technology Support Center at 856-256-4400 for assistance. - Enter your biographical information and click Submit.
- You'll be prompted to verify whether you have one of your Duo devices available. Click Proceed.
- Click on Proceed to receive Duo verification
- Authenticate with Duo
6. If you do not have the device that you previously enrolled available, click Device Unavailable.7. A Duo bypass code will be sent to the email on file. If you do not have an email enrolled, please contact the Technology Support Center at 856-256-4400.8. In the left-hand navigation menu, click Update Password
9. Enter and confirm a new password, select the check box acknowledging the University's Acceptable Use Policy and click Update Password

To reset your Rowan NetID password before it expires:
- Go to netid.rowan.edu, log in with your Rowan NetID and verify your identity through Duo two-factor authentication.

To reset your Rowan NetID remotely (Anywhere outside Rowan Campus Network) On VPN:
- Follow any of the steps above based on your current account status.
- When you change your password from a remote location while on VPN, the network will update your computer about this new password and you will be able to login to your computer with the new password any time after that. However, it is advised that after the password change you remain on VPN for at least an hour.
To reset your Rowan NetID remotely Off-VPN:
- Follow any of the steps above based on your current account status.
- When you change your password from a remote location while off-VPN, the network will not update your computer about this new password and you will be unable able to login to your computer with the new password. However, you will be able to unlock your computer with your old password. Accessing any Rowan site or software after logging in will require your new password since these sites are on the network.Your computer will be updated with the new password when you start VPN or are on campus connected to the Rowan network.
