Can I use my own paper?

We strongly request that you only use our paper in the printers to avoid damage to the printers. We do not issue reprints for printing problems when users opt to use their own paper instead of ours. Using your own paper is done at your own risk.

Can I print on transparencies?

No. All transparencies are banned due to the potential for harm to the printer fuser unit. Transparency printing can be done at Rowan's Print Center in Memorial Hall.

What happens if the network goes down?

As with any networked printer, when the network goes down all printing services stop on that printer until the network comes back online. However, if it is just that particular printer that is not functioning, you can print the jobs you sent at any swipe-enabled Copier/Printer across the Rowan Campuses.

Printing Costs

How much does printing cost?

How do I pay for printing?

Students: At the beginning of each academic year, students receive $40 for printing on their RowanCard. Swipe your RowanCard at any swipe-enabled copier, and the cost of the print job is automatically deducted.

Employees: Swipe your RowanCard at any swipe-enabled copier and the cost of the print job is automatically deducted from your Departmental Copy Account balance.

How can I check my printing account balance or transaction history?

Users can check their balance at any of the swipe-enabled copiers around campus or in the RowanCard Portal.

How do I add money to my printing account?

Students can add more money to your account by visiting the RowanCard Portal

Students using their RowanCard to print but don't have money left from their $40 printing allocation will have the cost of the print job deducted from their overall RowanCard balance.

Can I put money into another user's account?

No.

What happens to student print balances at the end of each semester?

For students, any funds above your initial allocation in your account will be carried forward to the next semester.  Balances do not carry over to the next academic year

When a student graduates or transfers, can they get a refund from their printing account?

No. Printing funds are "use it or lose it" funds. We encourage you to use up any printing funds you have in your account before you graduate or transfer to another school.

I noticed extra money in my student printing account. Where did it come from?

Certain departments, programs and colleges have paid for additional funds to be placed into their students' printing accounts. In most cases, these funds are "use it or lose it" and are non-accumulating.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds will be handled on a case by case basis, but generally, there are no refunds — only reprints.

Reprints will not be provided for user-induced formatting issues. However, if the printer malfunctions (low toner, streaks in a printout, blank pages, etc.), a reprint will be provided as long as a lab monitor or other support member is made aware within 30 minutes of sending the failed job. If the failure is valid, we will refund any charges the user incurs.

Email ruprint@rowan.edu for any refunds or issues.

If you have any additional questions or need help, please contact the Technology Support Center at 856-256-4400 or submit a ticket in the IRT Support Portal.
