You can access shared resource mailboxes via the web using your own username and password at this url: https://outlook.office.com/nameofmailbox@rowan.edu (any students with access will need to use this method). Please see "Outlook Web Access: Open a Shared Mailbox" for more information

In the Windows Outlook client, any shared mailboxes you have access to should automatically show up in the bottom of your folder list on the left.

If not, you can follow the instructions below (for Windows and MAC) to have the mailbox open with your Outlook client.

If you have trouble with the instructions please call the Support Desk at 256-4400 and they can walk you through it.

If you need a new shared mailbox or wish to modify permissions on an existing mailbox, please visit Request an Exchange Shared Mailbox for information.

6. Click OK if you get a 'The operation you selected will not complete until you quit and restart Microsoft Outlook." message.

7. On the Windows that pops-up, click the Advanced Tab.

8. Under "Open these additional mailboxes:" click "Add...." and then type the name of the mailbox you want to add to your user profile. If you do not know the mailbox name, contact the Support Desk at support@rowan.edu.

9. Click "OK" and then "OK" again and then exit.

10. In the bottom of your Folder List you should now see the mailbox of the account you have elected to open in addition to your personal mailbox.

MAC:

Newer versions of Outlook (instructions for older versions are also provided in the link below)

Open a shared Mail, Calendar or People folder in Outlook for Mac

The account should then show up in your folder list and begin to synchronize. Depending on the volume of mail in the account, this may take a while.
