Duo: Set Up the Duo Mobile App

The Duo Mobile app is the fastest and easiest verify your identity at Rowan University. You must have a screen lock enabled on your device in order to use the Duo Mobile app.

To set up the Duo Mobile app on your phone, follow the instructions below based on whether you already have a mobile phone set up:

 

To set up a mobile phone for the first time with the Duo Mobile app:

 

  1. Log in to netid.rowan.edu
  2. Click Duo Devices in the left-hand navigation menu



  3. Click Register new Device/Number.



  4. Click Register Mobile Device.



  5. Enter your phone number, select your device platform, and click Continue Registration.



  6. Enter the 6-digit validation code and click Continue Registration.



  7. You will now see a screen containing a QR Code and another text message will be sent to you with a link to install the Duo Mobile App. Please install the app, if you haven't already. 



  8. Open the Duo Mobile app on your device and click the + icon in the upper-right corner of the app.
  9. Click Use QR code on your phone and scan the QR code.

    NOTE: If you are accessing the Duo Portal from the device you are trying to register, a device that can't install the Duo Mobile App or if you have a Blackberry OS smartphone or some other device that can't scan the barcode, click the link below the QR code in order to complete the registration. 

  10. Your device registration is now complete, and you can start using the Duo Mobile app!

When you receive a Duo login prompt, click Send Me a Push and enter the six-digit code to approve the notification sent to your app. For more information, see our article on using two-factor authentication to log in.

 

 

To add the Duo Mobile app to your mobile phone:

  1. Log in to netid.rowan.edu
  2. Click Duo Devices in the left-hand navigation menu.



  3. Under "Reset" click the green icon to start the Duo Mobile app registration process 



  4. Click Confirm



  5.  Click OK



  6.  You'll receive a text message with a link to install the Duo Mobile app. Download the app, and follow the instructions until you are prompted to install the QR code. Once scanned, your device enrollment is complete. 

When you receive a Duo login prompt, click Send Me a Push and enter the six-digit code to approve the notification sent to your app. For more information, see our article on using two-factor authentication to log in.
