Affiliates at Rowan University receive privileges to Rowan University resources based on the guidance from their sponsor. These privileges can include RowanCard access to a university building, a Rowan NetID or a Rowan University email address. If your privileges include a Rowan NetID and/or Rowan University email address and there are no errors or delays with your affiliate form, your account will be available 24 hours after you complete the affiliate form.
To set up your Rowan NetID, you'll need to complete three steps:
- Log in for the first time
- Enroll a device in Duo
- Set your password
Since you don't yet have your password or a two-factor authentication device enrolled, you'll need to log in as a First Time User, which involves verifying your identity and setting up a recovery email.
- Go to netid.rowan.edu
- Select First Time Users
- Enter the requested biographical information to verify your account and click Submit.
Note: If you do not have a Social Security number on file with Rowan University, enter your Banner ID in the appropriate field. - You'll then be prompted to verify your postal code.
- After verifying your postal code, enter a recovery email address and select Continue Registration.
- After submitting your recovery email address, you will be prompted for a verification code. An email with the subject "Your NetID Verification Code" will be sent to your new recovery email address. Use the code within the email for the verification code prompt in the NetID application.
- At this point, your recovery email has been added to the system, and you'll be redirected to a page allowing you to request a Duo Bypass Code.
- Request your bypass code, and you will be directed to Duo's verification prompt to complete the log in process. On the Duo verification prompt, you'll want to click the Other Options link, then select Bypass Code to get to the proper screen for entering your bypass code.
You should now be logged in to NetID and can complete the new user setup process by enrolling a new device and updating your password.
- Click Register new Device/Number.
- Enter your phone number, select your device platform, and click Continue Registration.
- Enter the 6-digit validation code and click Continue Registration.
- You will now see a screen containing a QR Code and another text message will be sent to you with a link to install the Duo Mobile App. Please install the app, if you haven't already.
- Open the Duo Mobile app on your device and click the + icon in the upper-right corner of the app.
- Click Use QR code on your phone and scan the QR code.
NOTE: If you are accessing the Duo Portal from the device you are trying to register, a device that can't install the Duo Mobile App or if you have a Blackberry OS smartphone or some other device that can't scan the barcode, click the link below the QR code in order to complete the registration.
- Your device registration is now complete, and you can set up your password!
- Click the Update Password button on the main page of NetID, or in the navigation menu.
- Enter and confirm your new password, making sure to meet the password strength requirements listed on this page.
- Your Rowan NetID is now set up! You can now access the online digital resources available to you as a Rowan University employee.
Rowan University assigns a unique nine-digit Banner ID number to every member of the Rowan community. You may be asked for your Banner ID when submitting internal forms and applications or to help verify your identity.
Affiliates should contact their sponsor for their Banner ID.
You can locate your Banner ID at netid.rowan.edu.
- Log in to netid.rowan.edu with your Rowan NetID.
- Your Banner ID is located in the "My Information" section.
If you are provided access to Rowan University email, you can access your email through the Outlook Web App, Outlook for desktop or the Outlook Mobile app.
Your email address is your NetID username plus @rowan.edu. You can find your email address at netid.rowan.edu.
- Log in to netid.rowan.edu with your Rowan NetID.
- Your email address is located in the "My Information" section.
